ChamberScans.jpg

The official publication of the Belfast Area Chamber of Commerce. “Where to eat, play, stay and just hang out. A great resource for finding out what’s happening and what’s special about visiting and living in Waldo County,” says the 2019 magazine. Hired to photograph and write a mix of stories including the Belfast street art/murals, galleries, and a business (owner). It was a great honor to have my photograph of Chase’s Daily selected for the cover.

Sierra Club podcast, The Overstory, brings to life writer Boyce Upholt’s Sierra Magazine feature on paddling on the Rivergator expedition in Episode 4, exploring “adventure—and a new sense of self—during a harrowing paddling trip on the Mississippi River.” I helped produce the feature by crafting the story with Upholt, as well as providing all natural audio recorded on-location from the expedition.

The Village Canoe

Belfast, ME

An immersive, outdoor, floating artist residency and traveling exhibition. Structured as an expedition, the residence will take place from a ~30 foot voyageur canoe, inviting through an open call up to six participants to paddle, camp and make art along the Maine coast and/or rivers on the interior. At the culmination of the trip, artists will host a temporary, free, public and interactive pop-up exhibition of the work produced during the residency. The show will take place outdoors in a movable bow-roof structure, the same enclosure in which the canoe will be built.

Support is provided by the Kindling Fund, a grant administered by SPACE as part of the Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts Regional Regranting Program.

Alex-Waggoner

An artist so humble and sweet, talented above all as a painter living and working in Charleston, SC.  Waggoner's work merited some sort of filmic piece to document her process - if even for one brief moment in time.
