*NEW* Dead Gowns w/ jes

Portland's Dead Gowns brings alt-country lounge songwriting, joined by jes for instrumental surf-inspired folk rock / first fri in sept!

Friday September 1st @ 7pm at High Ridge Farm in Montville

I feel like these events are the type of new normal that I want to have moving forward. Community coming together to hear local music and watch films, with a focus on collaboration, sharing, uplifting one another and folks’ variety of work.

Montville's concert and wine barn hosts more summer magic in August with New England's own Footings and The Huntress and Holder of Hands.

Torchlight Songwriter (2021)

A Nashville-style “Songwriters in the round” live performance from Chris Battaglia, Louise Marks, Kelly Ravin, and Sara Trunzo.

Torchlight Cinema (2021)

An outdoor gathering on a nondescript (yet centrally located) lawn in downtown Belfast, Maine, to premiere the film of local filmmaker Matthew Porter with his feature Grand Canyon (Part 1 and Part 2 now available online).

The songwriters in the round event had such a great vibe, perhaps because it was nearly the first event I’d been to in more than a year, so there was that sweet joyful quality to the whole night, so that plus the musicians who were all great, and I loved their interaction with each other.

Interested in collaborating on any kind of public engagement event?

Music, film, art—there are no boundaries!

We need more creative action like this. People are hungry for community, especially now. I believe success is relative, if even one person has a transformative experience or feels encouraged to commit to a creative act in their own lives, then the time and energy was worth it.
