Dashi. Miso. Ramen.
Dashi is the base stock for Miso Soup, Ramen, etc. All it requires is a par boil of Kombu (kelp) in water. The natural glutamates found in the seaweed create the subtle, complex flavor base against which you would add miso paste and bonito flakes.
Very easy to make. Stir in a freshly cracked egg for breakfast miso, or quickly boil some noodles and add some pork belly for ramen. It's Sunday, go make your own in thirty minutes time.
