Yesterday I cut and threaded steel gas pipes, but don't call me a Man of Steel. It was exhilarating! Wood and steel are great. Going to learn Welding this week at Open Bench Project., build more things, turn more bowls, and play more open mic nights. Stay tuned.
Also, I framed, hung, and displayed five photographs this weekend, guided by the theme of "Water," for the First Friday Art Walk. They are currently on display and for sale at Maine Mead Works, here in Portland, ME. But if you want to buy one for yourself, or for a gift this holiday, I've created an Etsy page to make sure it gets in the right hands:
Below are the images, and I must mention, I will donate 10% of all proceeds from this series to Environment Maine to #ActOnClimate. Thanks!
Furthermore! The print above "Icicolors" will be showing at the annual Photo A Go-Go show, put on by the Bakery Collective. I framed that in an antique barn wood frame, whose proceeds will go towards the Photo studio, supporting a great group.
Lastly, please enjoy the tune below. It is "Water" by Ra Ra Riot, and is infectious. I grabbed it from one of Dylan Westhoff's spotify playlists. They are all so, so great. I felt it was fitting for the theme of the photo series, and since it's been stuck in my head for weeks now. Makes me think of the time I saw Ra Ra Riot at the KCRW music festival in Pasadena in 2011. Make Music Festival, I think it was? Youtube and Spotify versions below, respectively. Enjoy.
